Ursäkta, hur stavar man “goodbye”? - ” S-e-e y-o-u s-o-o-n!”

Hejsan everyone!

After all the months of gorgeous German writing it was just time to write a last section in English! (Hello to all my new international friends!)
Right now I am on my way back home on a ship. I think the circle is completed now: arrinving on a ship in April, measuring emissions during summer and now finally going home by ship...
So I was walking around on this lovely ship thinking about how to start this last blog, when I suddenly found this:

Seriously… I had a bright smile on my face… if someone is still wondering what I actually did here in beautiful Göteborg – I guess that sums it all!

With all the courage I have I decided to take the immense risk and went outside:

So, enough sunset sentimentality.

I hope you can all understand that it’s really hard to describe my feelings these days. Total happiness regarding tomorrow to see my family again, regarding the weekend where I’ll meet important people in beautiful Braunschweig. But on the other hand, there’s just a lot of sadness when I realize that this awesome adventure is ending.
Nevertheless I had an amazing colleagues-goodbye last Friday night…! To sum things up: they organized a naked man on the glass roof above our table, fire alarm in the whole building which results in the arrival of handsome firefighters and last but not least beautiful fireworks around midnight! How awesome are those guys?!

(Ok. To be honest, they are incredibly awesome but all these things didn’t happen on (our) purpose, but still a lot of fun! Thank you all very very much!)

Next to this funny evening my whole week was really nice – hanging out with everyone once again during fika (hello friends and family in Germany: I need coffee at 10:00 and 15:00), lunch and dinner. And of course I finally made it to Göteborg’s football stadium. A nice evening with extra thrill due to our department bets on the match.  Again thanks to my colleagues who just decided that the German girl deserves to win!

It is harder than expected to avoid a sentimentally overloaded post. So just to shorten things I want to point some last words:

Family and friends back home: Words can’t explain how happy I am that you all supported me so much during these last 6 months. Skype is definitely one of the best inventories ever!

Visitors: I really enjoyed all you visits here in Sweden. It was great fun to have you all around here and just thanks for reminding me to be a tourist again instead of just walking to work. Incredible pictures, memories, holidays and talks will stay in my mind!

New friends from all over the world: I’ve never felt so international before. It’s great to know that there are nice places and people all around. Having new friends from all over the world is great and showed me a lot about my own culture and thinking. I hope to see you all again, sooner or later, whether in Sweden, Germany or somewhere else on the globe. Just contact me whenever you’re around in my beautiful country! As I spent a lot of time at work , you guys really made my stay! Thanks for encouraging doing all this and thanks for help with advice and just a lot of fun and good times!

To all my readers out there: Thanks for all your comments, questions and messages! I was surprised how many quotes I got on my texts.  Incredible 1500 times has my blog page been opened. (I was really happy about the various comments, ... so at least the 1500 hits weren’t caused by a stalker.)

 (….)

At this point the writing has been interrupted by this incredible sunset. I just had to ran out and took pictures!

Famous last words?
I really can’t decide.

Home sweet home? Home is where your heart is?

I guess in the end it doesn’t matter, I only know that from now on I’ll always have a liten svenska hjärta. See you soon!

Love and hugs to all of you,

Lena
